Random intervals is not anyone’s favorite kind of ear training. That’s why in this workshop, we’ll focus on the listening skills that actually matter when you’re playing bluegrass: recognizing chord changes, finding melodies, and figuring out what’s happening when someone calls a tune you don’t know. We’ll work through practical examples together and develop strategies for relying less on tabs and more on what you hear.

• How to recognize musical phrases and learn unfamiliar tunes quickly
